Now here is an idea for the summer... put gummy bears in sprite and freeze for popsicles.

Artist Spotlight - Alex Jacke

After hearing Alex Jacke, I am in love with music again!I know I may say cliché but it's rare to hear a song once and love in immediately. I like EVERY song on his new cd DFM.

In a world of Lil Waynes and Two Chainz, (talking about women negatively) it's nice to see that real music hasn't died. We have to start and/or continue support true talent so they can keep on bring out hot music. Check him out! (See Video below and go to www.alexjacke.com)

Alex Jacke
was born and raised in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. The singer and songwriter realized his passion for music as a child when he fell in love with 90's R&B and Hip Hop. Jacke’s music influences also include soul, funk, gospel, rock, and pop music. Self taught on the piano, he began composing songs by middle school. By the time he started his freshman year at Morehouse College, he knew music was his future and he focused his energy on songwriting, & performing at school events and venues around Atlanta. During his sophomore year, he appeared on the highly popular MTV series "My Super Sweet 16, as the special guest performer for DJ Spinderella and former NBA player, Kenny Anderson's daughter, Christy. His performance caught the attention of music executive and producer, Laney Stewart, who invited Jacke to work with him over the summer. Jacke jumped at the opportunity to pursue his dream, and left Morehouse College at the end of his junior year to return to Los Angeles. Like others before him, most notably Tricky Stewart and The-Dream. Laney Stewart took Alex Jacke under his wing which led Jacke to land a worldwide publishing deal with Music Gallery/Universal Music Publishing Group in 2011. Along with Stewart and his production team The Sharpshootaz, Alex Jacke spent most of the first half of 2012 perfecting his debut EP, D.F.M. (Dorm Fuckin Music) released on July 9, 2012. On Valentines Day 2013, Alex released a "Deluxe" version of his D.F.M. release, simply titled "D.F.M. Deluxe.

Zane's The Jumpoff

This week I called my cable provider after hearing about Zane’s new TV show, The Jump off. I upgraded my service to get Cinamax and it was well worth it. I was a fan of Zane’s tv series Sex Chronicles so when I heard about Jump off, I jumped on it. On March 29, 2013 Cinamax premiered the show about the lives of five successful African American men from all sorts of backgrounds as it tells the stories of their everyday lives. Zane's latest series follows five 30-something frat brothers and their women as they grapple with issues like commitment, fidelity and forgiveness. The gorgeous cast includes
• Amin Joseph as Dmitri Vance
• Sean Riggs as Earnest Bishop
• J. Teddy Garces as Spencer Martinez
• Damian Raven as Gabriel Turner
 • Kinyumba Mutakabbir as Fenwick "Woody" Wood

After seeing a few episodes I’m sold. What do you think?

Trinidad James - All Gold Everything

The first time I heard “All Gold Everything” By Trinidad James, the DJ pumped the song up so much that I didn’t like based on this High expectation. The more I listened to it, the more I liked it. Now, I agree with the DJ, it’s a banger!

Kiss and Tail- Response to Karrine Steffans

Though out history, celebrity men have been known to be womanizers. There are these unwritten rules that people are supposed to follow, to directly benefit “dogs”. God forbid you break one of these rules, because if you do, you become the new outcast. Karrine Steffans aka Superhead is legendary in the hip hop community for you know, a great fellatio martini. She has been seen topless in the Shake it Fast, Mystikal video and playing Honey in a Mr. Marcus video. It is so easy to judge Karrine from stories you hear, but she’s not doing anything different then many “unknowns”. I am not telling girls and women to follow her lead, but I am saying she fits the mold of many other females. These celebrity men, many married, slept with Karrine and expected her to remain quiet, to follow this “code”. Breaking the code, leads to bullying at its worst. Most women cannot handle the raft of this level of bullying.

I say all of this to say, I recently watched “Kiss and Tail: Hollywood Jump Off” directed by Thomas Gibson. It is a documentary about Karrine and video girls. What makes some scenes so pathetic, is watching men like Norwood and Darius McCrary aka Eddie Winslow crying about how she “played them”. They are angry because they tried to play her and she won. All these men were using her body and she was using them. I am not condoning her behavior, but you have to respect someone who beat these men at their own game.

I truly enjoyed this documentary because you were able to see both sides of the drama, hers and his. Check it out. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002IZCTMC/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002IZCTMC&linkCode=as2&tag=sb053f-20
